~ First steps on the French Riviera ~
06/01
We set sail for Cannes, direction Port Canto. On arrival, we moor between two magnificent luxury yachts, Le Labo is a little vintage here ! Florian goes back for a few days to see his little Thaïs while we go to taste the water on the beaches of the Croisette, then we turn around in our superb yacht.
05/29
Le Labo is sailing with 7 knots of wind downwind and making a nice furrow in the sea ! We go so fast that we arrive in Saint Raphael at 7 p.m., Sarah in charge. We'll be able to have a good night without shifts before tomorrow's stand.
30 - 31/05
We hold a stand for two days in a row at the port of Santa Lucia de Saint Raphael. Few passers-by this time, but the few who take the time to stop are real enthusiasts ! We take refuge in the U-ship opposite when a big storm breaks out. We chat for a while with the seller, who tells us about the calculations of position, sextants and stars… We end the day by cleaning the deck of the Lab, which deserves a little toilet after all this time spent at sea_cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_!
06/03
We return to the mainland with memories in our heads and a great desire to come back ! We are enjoying a new sailing trip, when suddenly, catastrophe : we drop a small bar in the toilet ! After several attempts to recover it, we begin to consider the bucket option with apprehension… Finally, a good heeling unlocks the bar : we are saved.
This morning is the first maneuver in port without Flo to supervise. A little bit of stress, but everything is going well, and Le Labo finds itself just in front of the beautiful Port Canto harbor master's office, in the middle of the Environment Festival organized by the port ! The place to stand is at top : two large tables and a barnum to avoid heatstroke. We take out the ferment net, the gyroplastic buoy, the stories of Isa the seagull, the memory... There's something for all ages and for all tastes ! We have the chance to meet other associations working on themes close to ours : Ecocéan, Bio-sphere, NaturDive. The festival is a real success, it attracts a lot of people. At 3 p.m., we present our conference, which provokes passionate debates around the environment, biodiversity and pollution. What a day ! We deserved a little glass of champagne, offered by the festival… Thank you Port Canto for this event !
