06/04
~ Côte d'Azur Festival Tour ~
06/08
Alarm clock : 7 a.m. Installation of booth :7h30. Meeting with the referent who tells us that it does not start with 10h : 7h40. 7h41 : we are jaded. We take the opportunity to go see the other associations participating in the Environmental Festival for schoolchildren : there are Les Petits Débrouillards, and Souffleurs d'Ecume ! The day starts with 8 groups of CM2 students who come to participate in our activities, and it goes on vite ! Even our grilled sardine break had to be cut short… In short, a tiring day, but at least these little young people know about BIOACCUMULATION (tadam !)
06/06
We leave Cannes in the afternoon. Finally, we are not going very far since we decide to spend the evening and anchor between the islands of Lérins ! The view is magnificent, the seabed turquoise blue, and we discover with surprise a catamaran which offers pizzas to boats, and brings them by zodiac ! What a great idea they have !
06/07
We put on a few pains au chocolat coming out of the oven thanks to the cata-bakery, and we set off for Menton. The weather is ideal, we spend the whole trip under sail, and Marine even decides to steer for the whole of her watch. We arrive in Menton quietly in the afternoon, which gives us time to visit the area a bit. We're really not far from Italy, and it shows ! In the evening, we open a jar of beef bourguignon and a good pot of rice in bulk, and we turn around in our berths. Good night Le Labo !
06/09
This evening, we have the chance to participate in a round table on the theme of marine litter and its impact on biodiversity. Several representatives of companies, laboratories and other associations will be present, and the event will be hosted by a journalist in a beautiful cinema in Cannes. The public asks a lot of questions about science, which we are delighted to be able to answer with the other scientists present, bringing in addition our experience in the field ! We then attend a magnificent conference on biodiversity, presented by Cyril Dufer, from Bio-shpère, which makes us think a lot about the future of ecosystems and the role of man in the destruction of biodiversity... evening ends late, it's a real success ! We return to the boat exhausted by these two days of festival, with the feeling of having conveyed the message we wanted. Even more people convinced by the fight against plastic pollution ! (y)
Sailing towards Cap d'Ail : estimated duration 1h actual duration 5h. Big swell, we are all out white except Flo and Marine.
06/10
We are preparing the stand in the port of Cap d'Ail, very close to Monaco. Barbapapa's stand is right next to notre : it attracts a lot of people ! Lulu takes advantage of the lunch break to go and revise first aid gestures at the Red Cross stand. Review of the week : 2 conferences, 3 stands and around twenty groups of primary school students : we're broke !
